Welcome! My name is Miss Jamie Buck. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2009 with my Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an English minor. This will be my sixth year teaching middle school ELAR. I am truly honored and blessed to be employed with Conroe ISD. Prior to my teaching career, I held many jobs as I worked full time and attended college full time. A few of the job positions I had were: service manager at 24 Hour Fitness, doctor’s assistant at Today’s Vision, office manager at Advanced Testing Center, Medco, Aero Tech, and was also a live-in nanny for 2 incredible kiddos who are still like family to me. After dealing with many frustrating adults in many of these roles, my commitment and passion for teaching grew with the idea that at least kids have an excuse (age) for their behaviors. I am constantly reminding myself of this especially when I struggle with impatience. I look forward to working with each and every one of you this year. I hope to make it one of the best educational years of your life. I do believe that if you are not having fun, you are not learning and if you’re not learning or having fun, it’s your own fault as my dad used to say. I am so grateful that I am able to do what I truly enjoy which is making a difference in every students life with a positive impact to help them become what they want to be in the future as well. I can’t wait to hear about your summer experiences as well as your goals/ambitions for your 8th grade year!
